Region 168 - General Info

American Youth Soccer Organization Region (AYSO) El Cajon/Rancho San Diego Region 168 includes the city of El Cajon, California (east of San Diego) and some surrounding areas including most of Rancho San Diego and parts of Dehesa, Crest and Blossom Valley.  AYSO regions are organized into Areas and Sections.  We are part of Section 11 in Area V.  Region 168 is one of more than 1000 AYSO regions throughout the world.  Area V consists of 8 regions in east San Diego County.  Section 11 consists of 8 areas in San Diego and Orange Counties - the most of any section. The Area V and Section 11 web sites may be searched through our links page.

Our mission is to apply the six AYSO tenets:  Everyone Plays™, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development.

We have over 1900 boys and girls, aged 4 to 18 years old, playing on more than 190 teams organized by age group.  For example, girls who are 8 or 9 by a certain date play on an under 10 team we designate as U10G.  Our teams play most of their games in the El Cajon area.  Post season play consists of league champion and all star teams under 10 through under 14 which can play into March.  We are also involved with AYSO special programs such as VIP, Spring League and Inter-Play.

We are an ALL-volunteer organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors including a Comissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Registrar, Treasurer, Regional Coach Administrator, Regional Referee Administrator, Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate, Girls Director, Boys Director, and Purchaser as well as volunteer coaches, division representatives, team managers, referees, administrators, field crew, and special events workers.  We do not employ coaches, trainers, referees or administrators for the core AYSO program.

Regional Guidelines and regional financial reports are available upon request to members by contacting the treasurer.  Look at our Calendar for information on some of our more important Region 168 events.

Please contact our region at the phone numbers or email addresses listed on the Board page.
