Volunteers don’t necessarily have more time they just have more heart!
Dear Friend of AYSO,
We need your help!
Each year this region is supported by hundreds of volunteers. The ability to give of your time pays huge dividends to our children. The time has come to recruit the AYSO Region 168 Board for next year. Many key positions on the board still need to be filled. All we are asking is for a few hours of your time.
Please consider taking a board position in AYSO next year. The region runs much smoother when dedicated volunteers step up and give of themselves. If you are not sure what position that you would consider we recommend that you attend one of our board meetings. Board meetings are held the last Thursday of every month from January through October at Kennedy Recreation Center beginning at 7 pm. All visitors are welcome. Volunteers are the ONLY way we get things done. We REALLY need volunteers.

SOME VOLUNTEERS PERFORM IN SEVERAL CAPACITIES - THEY MAY BE A BOARD MEMBER, COACH, AND ALSO A REFEREE!
El Cajon AYSO is a 100% volunteer organization.
If you don't already contribute your time to your children's sport, call El Cajon AYSO Region 168 at 619-440-AYSO (619-440-2976). You'll get to meet some great people and your kids will think you're even more special.
The volunteer positions described above do not include those needed for our Summer SoccerFest fundraiser or the Thanksgiving Soccer Tournament hosted in the Fall. For example, at SoccerFest, a staff of volunteers is needed to man the snack bar, coaches booth, information booth, bake sale table, and other booths.
We are an ALL-volunteer organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors including a Comissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Registrar, Treasurer, Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate, Safety Director, Regional Coach Administrator, Regional Referee Administrator, Girls Director, Boys Director, Purchaser, Division Representatives, and others. We do not employ coaches, trainers, referees, administrators, field crew, team parents, web master, or anybody else for that matter.
We have over 1900 kids in our region aged 4 1/2 to 19 years old for the fall 2008 season from August to December. There are more than 175 teams. We are also involved with other AYSO secondary programs including the second largest VIP program nationwide, U16 & U19 area play, and competitive play within the Presidio League run by our nationally respected AYSO Matrix program.
