Coaches

Coaches, it's time for us to begin preparing the end of the year trophies.  Trophies will be provided for all U8 and younger teams.  1st and 2nd Place trophies will be provided for each pool in U10, U12, and U14 based on the end of the year tournament results.

Please email the following information to your division representative and Cheri Blunt (cherijblunt@yahoo.com):

Division and Team Number (For example, U14 Boys Team #3)
     Team Name
Head Coach Name and Phone Number
     Player Name and Jersey Number

Please verify the spelling of each child's name with the parents.  Please email this information by Friday, October 30th.  Information received after this date may delay the preparation of the trophy name plates for your team.  Thank you.

Player Ratings Form

Each Coach must complete a player rating form before the end of the season. These ratings are used to help balance teams for the next year. Please take time to complete these forms accurately. Consider the skill level of players throughout the Division when you complete the ratings for your team. Rating every player on your team as a "9" for ability and a "7" for atitude is not helpful to the league or to the players themselves. Overrating players will lead to unbalanced teams next season. Generally there should be only one or two top rated players on a team. Right click on the link below and select 'Save as Target...' to download the form.

All coaches and assistant coaches must take the Coach Safe Haven training class before working with the kids.  Safe Haven classes are held several times before the start of the season.  We encourage every coach to obtain the age-appropriate coaching certification.  Every year El Cajon Region 168 hosts coaching clinics for U6, U8, U10, and U12 coaches.  Coaching clinics for older age groups (Intermediate and Advanced) are hosted by Area V and Section 11.  Check the Events/Calendar page for training dates.

Coaches wishing to be considered as an all-star coach should be aware that the appropriate age-level coach certification is a prerequisite to be considered as a qualified all-star coach candidate.  Additionally, any coach that advances to the Section tournament must have the appropriate age-level coach certification.
